The Princeton CarbonWorks Wake 6560 was conceived in 2012, with initial riding models completed in 2015.
Since then, there have been 5 iterations of our flagship wheel, each offering improvements in aerodynamic performance and efficiency, weight, stiffness, responsiveness, and quality.
A unique and balanced combination of attributes has made the Wake 6560 the go-to wheel for those looking for peak performance: aerodynamically faster than deeper wheels, lighter and better-handling than shallower wheels, all while stiff, responsive, and lively under power.
The Wake 6560 Evolution II is our most aerodynamically efficient mass-start compliant road wheel, designed around a 28mm tire. This is achieved using a 22mm internal, fully hooked profile and a maximum external width of 33mm. Rim weight has been reduced from 470g for the Evolution I to 420g for the Evolution II, all while exceeding 120J impact test energy. The Wake 6560 Evolution II in its lightest configuration weighs in at 1,250g with steel spokes and Tactic Racing TR01V2 hubs.
The Wake 6560 Evolution II utilizes an all-new carbon layup to achieve both light weight and high impact resistance. Composite material development results in a 10% reduction in wheelset mass from the Wake Evolution I, all while retaining the safety, reliability, and ease of maintenance of steel spokes. Non-drilled tire beds remain standard, removing the need for tubeless tape. Additionally, the Evolution II family now features pre-balanced rims to further reduce speed-stealing vibrations and harmonics.
All wheelsets include tubeless valves and padded wheel bags.
